Jigging Mode is only available in the core series HB SI units ...

HB changed the ping sequence with the release of the software version that included 360 ... they changed this to prioritize SI over 2d (unfortunately to the detriment of the 2d quality) ..

Jigging Mode changes the ping sequence back to the "pre-360" software to prioritize 2d over SI ...

Jigging Mode is under the Xpress "Menu" when full screen 2d is displayed ...

Also on my Helix 10, I can watch my jig when using the DI. Its not showing it 100% of the time. But Its enough that I can keep up with where the jig is. And even see the fish moving in on DI. I have DI set where its on the narrow beam. So its not shooting the wide angle. Its sure fun watching a video came while catching crappie out of brush piles. Or as last Friday, catching them off single stumps scattered along the creek channel.
Wondering if the core units allow you to chose between narrow med and wide DI beams? I know my old 987c SI did not allow me to choose. Wish I could find a new screen for it. AS it still shows better detail on SI then the Helix 10 does.

ShilohRed, my 998c and 999c SI both have narrow, med, and wide DI setting.

Guys, check out this website. http://www.technologicalangler.com/home
He focuses on use of HB equip but same principles apply for others. Instructional videos #1&2 are really good and will answer a lot of questions. He also has a bunch of free videos if you search YouTube.

Bottom line for SI or DI you need to be moving to get those amazing photo like images. IMO, 2d sonar (narrow cone) is the way to go when trying to vertical fish cover. Narrow cone insures you are directly overtop of structure (i.e. Display will be clear if not over cover)

In the DI side, you can see the brushpile to the right of the school of crappie. My best shot ever. Wish I didn't have the 2D image on that setting.
