Default Some Onix10 chirp screen shots from today

Here's a few from today. I've got to say that I do believe the 2d has improved with the 2.700 update, but I don't really see were chirping the Onix helps anything. I can set the unit to fixed frequencies and seems to work just fine.

Kosmo, do you think the 2d may be improved mainly because the cone angle has changed with the update? I still thing the downimaging is way more useful for me- but I mainly fish for striper.

Would have liked to have seen a DI image of that school. It gives me a headache to focus very long on the 360 images, and the 2d sonar (Chirp or not) just doesn't do it for me, anymore, now that I have a DI unit.

    ... cp

I understand what your saying. I didn't have my di running today,. I'm trying out the 2d chirp, to get a feel for it. Those fish are probably Asian carp and your right, the DI would make it easier to tell what they are. (the 360 rocks tho)

I don't no? Is the cone angle different for each frequency? 83khz and the 200khz look different now also.

I think the lower the freq, the greater the cone angle. Also mutliple freq(chirp) has a greater cone angle. My opinion, but I think chirp is over rated for water less than 100ft. Down imaging has better target separation also. But I'm usually moving following or finding schools of striper and bait.
