    Default Transducer selection help

    Hi guys

I am upgrading to a humminbird 959 ci HD DI and need to exchange the transducer for a trolling motor mountable transducer. I noticed on humminbird's website that i have 2 choices.

    XTM 9 Wide DI 20 T (20/60 deg, 200/83 khz)

    or

    XTM 9 DI 25 T ( for $60 more, 25/16 deg, 200/455 khz)

I understand the cone angles and that the Wide ducer has bigger angles so you can see more down below, but what is the advantage or why would one go with the 25/16 deg, 200/455 khz?

    Thanks in advance!

The 16° would give just a little better target separation of targets close together or fish hugging the bottom ...

In shallow water the wider 60° of the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T is much more benefit to cover more water area under the boat ...
