One thought would be to start the FF, then hit the power button (this will bring up a menu) and see if sonar is on or off. I am not sure if it automatically turns the sonar back on each time or not.
Was night fishin tonight and used the 2d on our 899 to find a pile. Turned it off and fished a while. Turned it back on and now it has no sonar di or si. Doesn't even have the screens available in the views and no sonar di or si options in the menu. It's like it has all vanished? Anybody had similar issue or have suggestions?

In addition to what Redge mentions ...
It is possible the xducer connector lost connection in the back of the head unit ...(HB core unit cable connectors stink)...
*Power on the unit ...
*Press "Menu" at the HB splash screen ...
*Choose "Normal" from the 3 choices in the popup to force the unit into Normal operation ...
*Test for sonar views ...
If still no sonar views ...remove the cable collector from the back of the unit and inspect all the pins ...
Reseat the cable collector into the head unit and re-test ...

Rickie, we unplugged replugged last night and chose normal from startup options menu. The confusing part is not only is everything besides the three map screens vanished, I don't even get a depth or temp reading or option anywhere, and it added a platinum tab to the menu options? No sonar, di, si, no sonar options no sonar tab in the menu no di or si options. Like they don't even exist or aren't even offered on that unit, and add a platinum tab? I think we'll start with software update. We just did one a couple months ago. Hopefully there's a new one available.
One other thought, you don't happen to have a switch (Transducer choice of 2 different ducers) do you? I have heard of someone having the switch on the shoot thru hull and forgetting to switch it back. Don't ask me how I know this!! LOL

Make sure you did not turn the sonar off. It has a separate switch so you can turn it off to just use the GPS. This is on page 131 in your operator's manual.
Be safe and good luck fishing
Only one transducer redge. And scrat if I did I have no idea how. Lol. But I'll check the manual.
No I wish it was that simple. When I turn it on its as if I bought strictly a GPS unit from hbird. I have four views only, which I can see clearly, that are just maps. No temp or depth readings and not even a place on the screen for a temp or depth reading. Just cog time and speed.
On Lowrance units you can do a master reset and reload all factory default data. Does that unit have any way of doing that?
