You can also use the XHS 9 HDSI 180 T on your Helix 5 SI ...

If it is to be installed on the trolling motor ... You need the XTM 9 HDSI 180 T ... Which is the same HDSI xducer but comes with TM hardware instead of transom mount hardware ...

    - GM-2 Gimbal mount for all of the 800/900 series units. This is only needed if you do not go with a RAM type mount. If you do use a RAM type mount, do not forget to buy the second mounting base for it.
I just thought of something. If I am going to install the standard ducer up front on the trolling motor, I'll need a trolling motor mount correct? Is there a way to just change the mount? If I buy the high def to install on the transom, but buy the trolling motor mount high def,can I just then just swap the mounts?? Thus allowing me to pit the standard up front on the motor and the high def on the transom.

If you are going to put the standard CSi transducer that comes with the 899ci HD Si unit on the trolling motor, I would exchange it for the XTM-9-Si-180-T which was made for trolling motor mounting and can take a little more punishment before breaking. It also has another layer of RF shielding to help with trilling motor interference in case you have it. You will have to contact the Humminbird Customer Service folks (1-800-633-1468) to set this up. Just don't open any hardware bags or uncoil the transducer before you send them off.

If you bought the transom and trolling motor versions of the HDSi transducer, then yes you can just swap the mounts between the HDSi transducers as they are the same except that one comes with transom mounting hardware and one comes with trolling motor mounted hardware - but you cannot swap mounting hardware with the CSi transducer as the HDSi and CSi transducers use different mounting hardware.

OK. So either buy the HDSi trans for both trolling motor and transom, or exchange the CSi transducer that comes with it (XNT 9 SI 180 T) for a XTM-9-Si-180-T and put it on the trolling motor and get a XHS 9 HDSI 180 T for the transom. Do I have all of these numbers right?

These 2 are the exact same xducer but each comes with different hardware ...:
XHS 9 HDSI 180 T = HDSI with transom mount hardware
XTM 9 HDSI 180 T = HDSI with TM mount hardware
    ----------

These 2 come in different shaped housings and different hardware ...
XNT 9 SI 180 T = Compact SI skimmer with transom mount hardware
XTM 9 SI 180 T = Compact SI puck with TM mount hardware (and extra RFI shielding)

Exchange the CSi (XNT-9-Si-180-T) transducer that comes with your unit and buy only one of the HDSi transducers.
