Those are some great shots of shallow water structure ...

Most I can only find a couple random echoes ...

This one I found several scattered white dot echoes ...

I think we all expect fish to stand out like sore thumbs, I know I do. If you think about it even a giant crappie is still a relatively small fish. Place him 30 to 50 feet away from where your standing in real life and he would look tiny. Now imagine trying to see him on a little screen with the sun glaring on it. I imagine those specks that Rickie circled are the fish. Still trying to train my eyes to notice those little things, it was hard on the helix, hoping it will be a little better on an 899. On humviewer I see lots of rice grains, wish I could have my laptop on the boat.

Same for me. I see more fish with 2D and DI. I see more when I run the scan in Humviewer. Then I mark them and go back out to the lake and hit those spots.

Those things are very hard to see on the screen. I was kinda thinking maybe the transducer wasn't working right but your opinion on the shots makes me feel a lil better! Zippy you right about the size. Lol I was kinda expecting to see bigger white dots! Thanks for checking it out for me guys. I'll look at em a lil harder on the water.

Like Zippy said ... Fish make really REALLY small white dots when the display is trying to "squeeze" all that acreage into that little display ...

Experiment with the different palette choices under different lighting conditions ...

Some white dot echoes contrast against the bottom detail better dependent on how your eyes decipher colors ...

Find some fish you know are fish and freeze the screen ...then change the palette colors to see which choice your eyes will allow the white dots to contrast better against the bottom detail ...

My eyes contrast white dots better in Inverse than any other HB palette choice ...

    Yours may be different ...
