Rickie, Is my brain thinking correct, would you not have better resolutions (clarity) on the smaller screens that have the same pixels (480v X 800h) but the screen image would be smaller?

Like Gene said ... More pixel density is better ... But you may not be able to see the difference in smaller screens ...(zoom boxes do show the difference) ...

The different size screens have different pixel densities.
The 798 has 31,170.5 pixels per square inch.
The 898 has 17,533.4 pixels per square inch
The 998 has 12,755.7 pixels per square inch
The 1198 has 8,858.2 pixels per square inch

    The Helix specs are ...:

    480 x 800 = 384,000 total pixels
    3" x 4.6" = 13.8" square inches (unverified)

    384,000 divided by 13.8 = 27,826 pixels density per square inch ...

(If my calculations are correct on the Helix) ...

So the Helix total resolution is almost as high as the 798 ...

    The new HD units (1199, 999) show to have 600v X 800h with the older units (1198, 998) only having 480v X 800h.

I was at BPS looking at this unit today and I was actually impressed. Screen was bigger and crisper than what I imagined. If I'm not mistaken you can't network this unit with another one. Anyone please correct me if I am wrong. This is what turned me away from it.

Helix cannot network in any configuration ...

Would love to have one on the bow and transom networked. Don't know if I would like two units on the boat not networked. Is there some way around this you can think of??? Maybe transfer to SD Card???

Guess I will have to stick with my Elite 7 up front and get a Touch HDS7 out back.

This is the easiest way to transfer waypoints from Helix to another unit ...

The exported waypoints may have to be ran thru HB PC ... Depending on what unit the waypoints are being transferred to ...
