    Question XTM 9 QB 90 T

I would like to know if i can use this transducer on the trolling motor, (XTM 9 QB 90 T) with the AS SIDB Y cable connected to my 798ci hd si for down imaging or 2d sonar? Has anyone tried this?

Connecting the XTM 9 QB 90 T to the "Dual Beam" leg of the AS SIDB Y cable would utilize only the 200kHz/83kHz 2d piezo in the XTM 9 QB 90 T ...

Connecting your SI xducer to the "Side Imaging" leg of the same AS SIDB Y cable would utilize the SI and Temp from the SI xducer ...

This will work ...(if this is the scenario you describe)...

    Then Yes ...

The XTM 9 QB 90 T can be used as a 200kHz/83kHz 2d xducer when connected to the "Dual Beam" leg of the AS SIDB Y cable ...

Are you wanting the 2d to "always" come from the TM mounted XTM 9 QB 90 T ...??

Or just when using the TM ... ??

I haven't thought about it much because i was wondering about the compatibility of the trolling motor transducer. It probably would be better if i were to use a switch and the "Y" cable to switch between the two transducers. Do you agree?

With the AS SIDB Y cable routing 2d from the TM all the time ... The TM would have to be in the water any time you were using the 798 ...

The HB TS3 switch would allow to choose either the SI xducer or the QB xducer...

Another advantage to this setup is that when the HB TS3 switch is set to the QB xducer ... You can set the "Transducer Select" menu (under the Sonar tab) to "Quadrabeam" and utilize all the functions of the QB xducer ...
