    Default "C" Trees Scan

Dropped some "C" trees in a few locations around the lake. I think the crappie will be looking for presents (jigs) around the trees for a while till they disintegrate! You can't tell from the scans but I cut some branches out to make spots for them to hide in the trees. Should be a productive spot. Spot always has bait fish and crappie just hanging out most of the time already. I just gave them a better home to hang around in.

I have an 899ci HD SI. I just did the update from Humminbird also so it makes the down image better.
Yes this is Somerville FF. These are easy to find. I dropped them about 50 feet from the shore so they can be easily found on sonar. The spot I dropped them was already a crappie honey hole so this should make it the most popular spot for crappie for the next couple of months.

I did a lot of research on-line and in forums. I constantly play around with the settings depending on where I am at and the time of day to see better. Here are a few sites I went to set it up and some sites with forums on the 899. You will get more info from the videos on YouTube than from me. I may confuse you. LOL Just do what they say to set it up and then play with it when you get on the water. You'll have fun changing settings to see more stuff!!
Also, did you do the update to 7.460 yet? It gives you "jigging" mode with the down image. Pretty cool stuff!

First, register your sonar with Humminbird. Only takes a few minutes. Once you do then your account for your model you register with will have any downloads for your sonar. Just download them to your desktop. Save the file on an SD card. It can be the same card you use to store your way points and recordings on. Then go to your sonar and power on. Set the unit to factory defaults. Then put the card in the slot and the unit will find the update and ask you if you want to update. Say yes and do not unplug until done. Once done it will reboot and you are updated. There are instructions on the Humminbird site where you download the update as well. Took me all of 5 minutes.

Question for u guys on the si pic. I bought a new unit this winter and need to learn. Would the cloudy pic on the right from the surface to bottom be just prop wash?? Also on si pic on left side of boat would that be big clump of weeds?? I am thinking weeds on not rocks because if it was rock it would be a brighter white.
