I'd answer your question, but I forgot my answer
The last time i was able to get on the water was 7-17, work was a bugger on the me time factor!
I went this past Thursday with a friend and was able to get some much needed water time in but something I found out real fast was how out of time the SI was due to me. Things that I was able to just adjust on the spot and bring out better detail seemed to have been lost and if I had not had field notes would have been a bigger headache than what I was going through ....felt like the first days on the water again with the units. The old saying "use it or lose it" really hit home.
Anyone else had this issue from not being out on the water in a while? Feel bad for those up north who have to put their boats away all winter.
I have ran into that, just not on the FF part. However I have been able to fish every week.

Slabbacks I am not retired yet, however I am finally at a point in my life where I can fish almost every weekend. Not sure if I will get to retire, but I think I have it made now. I have a robot at work for dispensing various liquids, went to use the the other day and thought of your post. Hadn't used it and lost 90% of it! Doh!
Well I've got that problem solved. I write notes on everything. Lets see here now, wait Ive got to find those notes. They are here somewhere, hold on.
I'm not gonna put the boat to bed until i have too i had frozen minnow water on the floor of the boat sat morning. But i know what you mean with electronics i 'm on my fourth depth finder this year just had really bad luck with used DF this year . If your gonna buy one at a auction or yard sale DON'T pay a lot for them!
I'm blessed that I am retired and fish 4-5 days a week. I don't go out in the kayak in the winter though unless it is a really nice day. I was in the missile, radar business for 38 years and the best way to stay up on a particular system was repeated use....checks...adjustment of that system. It is the same with using an si unit. The more time you can get on it the more you will retain the understanding and ease of use of it. I have the time and for that I am thankful. I have a nephew who can only get his boat out a couple of times a year and he only has a 2d unit with GPS but has long since forgot how to use it.
