Looks good.people that fish reel foot lake could benefit from having there trans.out in front of there boats
I was getting some advice from Ricky on the 1159CI HD SI unitI had just purchased. I mentioned what I was trying to accomplish with thetransducer. I wanted to extend it on conduit out several feet in front of theboat. I really do not prefer to spider rig, but I do it sometime. I wanted toget the transducer near the end of the poles, so I could tell the baits were inthe structure. I also wanted to be ableto fish shallow in the spring without the trolling motor on top of structure.Ricky came up with a conduit holder. It allows the conduit to slide in and outof the boat to any length I want. He placed set screws on the device to keepthe transducer flat to the bottom. Works great. In the photo you will see thecable is still on the outside of the conduit, for now. I have been makingrevisions to the length of the down piece of conduit. So for now it is easier to cut conduit, deburr, etc with the cable on the outside. Once I get it all like I want it, the cablewill be on the inside of the conduit. Thanks Rick!!

Update please. I have been kicking around a similar idea except I want to drop my transducer between my pontoons. I will need to get it down below the prop wash of my trolling motor but able to raise it for transport. I have not been able to locate a tube hinge that will allow the cable to pass through. All that I have found are solid bodied. The diameter of the tubing is not as important as the hinge being able to pass thru a sleeve without binding. Any thoughts?
Use an old hand held trolling motor transom mount bracket.I have one forward and aft on my boat and they are removable and slide up and down to get the depth wanted.
If I dont ask its my fault for not knowing
JDI just use one of Rickies sticks. He can make it go down as far as you need and it will fold up an be horizontal.

My main problem is that I have railing right up to the front of my deck. My TM is mounted in the gate area. So what I am looking to do is mount a which will raise and lower thru the deck and the upper section will fold down when in the stowed position. I will try to draw a sketch of what I mean. Thanks for the feedback. I will post a couple pics later today.
Ok here is my thoughts. Very open to ideas. Tube must go thru the aluminum deck but would like to use the smallest diameter that will do the job. The hinge would have to be lockable to avoid any movement below deck. Rickie's option would work except it takes up too much floor space and a large hole in deck. I am completely rebuilding this boat so I am open to options and want to make sure that all equipment is is functional before I put new carpet down. I have already purchased 2 49" Aluminum tool boxes (1 for each side)which will give me more room to build a carpeted storage area that can house the sleeve. the upper portion of the mechanism can secure to the tool box when TD is in the stowed position. My only real problem is locating a hinge that would make this all possible. Up until this point I have been picturing round tubing so I could turn the transducer but after seeing this I could possibly find something square that may solve my dilemma. Rickie I like what you have there and if you have some thoughts/ options they would be greatly appreciated. also my TM is a 60" shaft so this will have to be long and strong to get below any prop-wash. The trolling motor bracket is an excellent idea but as you can see it's really not an option in my case. Again any and all thoughts are appreciated.
One point to mention before the ideas start flowing ...
It is very doubtful that you will have an issue with TM prop wash ...especially as far to starboard from the TM that your design is ...
My xducers are closer to my TM than your idea and my speed has to be upwards of 2.2mph before I can even see any turbulence at all in the SI image ...and even then the turbulence only shows very close to the SI centerline where it doesn't cover up any echoes I want to see ...
Here you can barely see the TM prop wash just to the left of the SI centerline ...
Rickie
