My 597 HD DI is like kosmo said,,,455 beam select only works on the water and not in simulator mode..Thanks for posting that kosmo I thought something was wrong with mine looks like im not alone..love c.c. always learning something!

Yes. On the water I get a very weak bottom signal but again I have to have the sensitivity way up like past 12 or so to even get that

Like you mentioned ...it would be a good idea to test someone else's unit on your xducers to see if it's a xducer(s) issue...
