Vik3,
The bottom right under the transducer is being shown just as it gets shown for the Si sonar. In the case of the 360 Imaging sonar it is the edge of that “big dark hole”.
what about a underwater camera, I been looking at them here tonight, and cant see why in clear enough water why that wouldnt be the best option

Greg are you using the 360 on your boat?
Yes you are right, your hook can be seen in some of those sevent points 50 feet aside, but this is not a bottom, thisis ship deck, and there is no hole in the deck. This is just how they see the deck:

Vik3......i see what your saying,i think your 180 ideal would be much better especially for ice fishing.
I'd think the flasher is your best bet. The next time I go I may split the screen on my HDS 8 and check out the flasher.
The only reason the boat deck is dark, is because it is tilted away from the sonar. If you go to the other side of the boat and take a pic, the deck should be brighter. The big circle under the boat is the water column just like on si
I use the transom nmounted 360.. after looking at this picture that i posted above i believe that it would be harder to vertical fish using the trolling motor mounted 360.i didnot realize this until just now
Vik3,explain more how that humminbird 180 works, can't pic it in my mind,do screen move, like from right to left? To be a hump like pic while setting still and screen move ,can't comprehend, and can you show more pic while setting still? Thanks.
