Interested in this set up as I've found other are too but dont want to jack up my unit or the warranty.

    Any info would be appreciated
i have not heard of anyone having issues while using this method.i have heard some say thats theres not enough difference to make it worth fooling with.thats not what i think tho.after seeing for myself i believe that the difference is like turning a light swich off an on.if your wanting to see small wooden structure and see the fish show up real bright then you would like this setup

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wx96OL7EG8s watch the video. That di is from the rotated transducer.its using the 455khz which isnot as clear as the 800khz but it still will give you and ideal of what to expect from a di transducer hooked to your 898

Slab back ,send some pic,s of DI,are they not already good, and is it worth the chance of losing warranty ? My 998 on DI to me looks good.

    genec

I reviewed a bunch of DI shots I've taken over the short time I've had the unit and the only problem I see is on stakebeds or other man made drops I have out or have found with pvc or stakes. After reading and seeing what is involved I think I will leave well enough alone and work with what I got. Not worth losing the warranty at this stage. Dont have the skill and knowledge kosmo and others have to fix my own stuff

Ill send you some pic's with my settings and type of bottom and structure. Thx for the help

I don't see how Humminbird could void your warranty for doing this since they have posted Brent Ehler's setup on their own news feed.
