Did it hurt the images taken for a recording too? I have not done any scree shots yet since I got my new using, but I did update it. I only made one recording so far and that was most to just try it out and see how it did seeing it on HumViewer. I can't get it to work on YellowFin though. Here is a shot I took just from one side in Down View even though I was using side scan and out 120' to each side.
I will not be happy if the picture is not as it is supposed to be because of an update and they need get that fixed ASAP. That is Bull!

I am wondering if that is boards laying on the bottom, maybe an old bridge?

I think it was an old wood bridge going over that creek and since just collapsed. Have to check that spot out again for fish, maybe drop some brush on the old bridge?

The HB unit applies post processing to the recordings when viewed in the unit...

Humviewer takes the raw sonar data...and then applies its own post processing to the data...you will not see the same detail in Humviewer...(even if you capture a snapshot from within the Humviewer recording)..I actually like the recordings played in Humviewer better than playing them on the unit...

To see if the new software versions are affecting your images you would need to take a snapshot directly on the unit during live scanning...then, export these into your PC and view the PNG snapshot with your PC picture viewing program (usually windows picture viewer)

This will tell you if the unit's live data processing is screwed up by the new software...

With the latest software updates, I see pixilation on the 2d ( i.e. dual beam for cane pole ) sonar image; I still have slow speed discrepancies with all my other GPS devices since I installed the HS GPS puck; and I don't think they have gotten the chart speeds back the way they were in earlier versions.

Thanks for the info and I will do that. Maybe I will just send it back if it's bad and tell them to change it back.

Had to check the location of the poster, could have sworn it came from MO.
