Brett.. The extra Y cable that came with your 998 is the AS YC cable and intended for use if you wanted to use an advanced accessory like the Weather Sense Module or Radar and the external GPS puck at the same time ...

You will have 2 choices running a DI xducer on your unit...
    XNT 9 DI T (200kHz 28° 2d cone + 455kHz 16° 2d cone + 455KHz 75° DI fan + 800kHz 45° DI fan)..
    XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T (83kHz 60° 2d cone + 200kHz 20° 2d cone + 455kHz 75° DI fan + 800kHz 45° DI fan)...

The XNT 9 DI T is a transom mount with included transom bracket hardware ...
The XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T is a TM mount with included TM mounting hardware ...

I chose the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T because of the larger 2d cone angles plus this xducer can be used in some of the other xducer testing that I am doing because the 83/200kHz can be used on the "Dual Beam" leg of the AS SIDB Y cable with different xducer's that I test...

You may never use any the other testing xducer's like I am testing but the option is there with the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T if you choose in the future some of the other test xducer setups I am testing...

The only disadvantage with the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T is the housing is different with no "ears" for bolting a bracket mount hardware to...it has slots for the hose clamp to attach it to the foot of the TM..

The TS 3 switch is just for convenience in switching between the stock HDSI xducer setup and the additional DI xducer setup...

I have the TS 3 switch ready and mounted in my boat but have not even used it yet ...but that is simply because I have been plugging xducer's directly into the unit to eliminate possible connection issues with all the xducer testing I do...

The TS 3 switch will make it very convenient in switching between the 2 different xducer setups ...

    I would suggest use it...

Using the LSS 2 on the HB is a little more difficult ...as it takes some re-wiring because the connectors are different..

I am in process of testing the LSS 2 DI element thru the the HB now...but it's still in testing stage and not really ready for me to release yet (as far as me recommending it)...

The HB DI xducer hooked to the HB SI ...and the HDSI rotated 60° ...I can already report better DI images than the stock "DI from SI" composite DI images ...

The easier setup is 1 of the DI xducer's as it only takes the DI xducer and the TS 3 switch...
