I would like to get some side by side images of DI from both units at different speeds from say 0.1 to 5 mph. It you could take those images over trees/brush/rocky points tha would be great. Thanks for offering to do these test. Maybe you should just keep both and have the best of all worlds

I was going to move it cause I was having a hard time seeing it.
The DI comparison is a good idea, it's the only reason I got both,
I'll do my best but I can't run them at the same time, interference. And going over the same brush in the exact same way is not likely.
I'll post screen shots but what I've learned is this, a great screen shot ain't crap if you can't see it where your sitting.
I suppose if you want to go home and study it, would be worth it.
now I'll go learn how to get a screen shot from the lowrance to the pc.

I have found that dropping buoys on each "outside" of the brush allows me to get the same path over the brush again and again for comparison testing ...

Since you have gps units, why not just set two waypoints, one on each end/side of the test subjects or area, and then have the units navigate you from A to B ????? If you start on A, the 2nd run or 3rd run should be close enough for a good comparison between the screenshots
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Good point jimp...and pretty effective for most testing....

But for most of my testing (of experimental xducers and stuff)...I'm watching full screen views of the images garnered and I don't want a chart view cutting into that screen real estate...

There are tests I make that re-scan the same brushpile 20-30 times getting full screen snapshots every pass...(sometimes even freezing the screen and getting 3-4 separate full screen image snapshots at different settings)...

Now if I had a second unit for chart...that would be a different scenario all together...

You can go into files, screenshots, export, then send them to your sd card. I like to save mine in a folder on my desk top then move them to my screenshot folder after I go through them to see which ones I want to keep.

well, he says he get too much interference if both units are going at the same time, so if he uses the HB gps to navigate the same path and turns off the SI on the HB and shoots the objects with the HDS, then switch things around. Either unit should record the track even if the gps is not showing on the screen correct ??

    Gents,
you should be equally interested in comparisons of both units SI capabilities.
I have found this to be equally surprising.
    STAY TUNED
