Was not at all happy with HB DI unit I had. Sold it, and went with a cheap Lowrance Elite 4 DSI, and the units do not compare IMO. The unit I have now takes no adjusting, and shows images crystal clear that are very easy to read. Could not be happier for the money.

Had a HB 898c si for 2 years. Never liked the Di and seeing fish to the side on Si was real tough. Screen was terrible to see in sunlight.
Have a Low HDS8 now and Di is great and Si fish are Much easier to see.

I've got a 587 di. The only thing I use it for is as confirmation that what I am seeing is fish and not something else. That said, not real happy with the Humminbird and there will be another Lowrance in my future.

I have totally flipped my lid and bought a new HDS 7 Touch as well as my brand new 998c HDSI.
I intend on trying them both side by side, judging them best I can, keeping one, selling one.
I will document it for everyone.
EBAY !!!!!!!! no pay for 6 months, can't afford both, nor do I want them both.
I just want to settle this debate for myself.
Could be I will end up "needing" the HDS 9 Touch !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or the 1198 HDSI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
