How does the price compare to Bandits?
I found or rather heard of a bait to use in place of a Bandit. It is a Wood Works made by Lee Sisson. You can find them at Wal Mart. I got one they other day, Have not got to try it yet. It is a wood bait and does not have a rattle to it. But looks good hope it fishes good too. Will report about it later.
If in doubt, cross their eyes!!

Have ya'll looked at the baits at W-mart down on the bottom shelf
in a cardboard box? Renegade, I think the brand name is. Cheaper,
but I have not given 'em a try - one reason I'm so drawn to Bandits,
and Action Bait Co. curly tails, is the amazing variety of colors.
If I ever get my airbrush in action, that may become less of a draw...
I do like the hooks that come on Bandits too - they seem to have changed
away from the Mustad triple grips that were so nice, and I fussed about it,
but the new ones are not too bad. Just don't like change to my "babies"
Guess that shows I'm ahead of my time with learning to be an "old grump"
P.S. the colors shown in most of the catalogs are only a fraction of what
Bandit makes, I used to buy most of mine at Sardis every October. Got down
there this year, and the old country store used to buy 'em at was gone -
maybe burned down, not sure. but gone - bummer.

You can order the unpainted crankbait bodies and paint them how you want them. I think you might have to put the hook on too, but you can order them as well.
LET IT RIP!
I have been looking at air brushes lately to do a little jig painting. I have a sears tankless compressor, but need to find a regulator for it. Need one to regulate about 10 psi. I cand find plenty from 40 to 100 psi regs, but no small stuff. Any recommendations?

I tryed it today. No takers on it but does have a good tight wiggle. One of the reason I got it. On another board that I visit for local tips. They told aobut it cause they could not find the color they needed in a Bandit. It was sold out. They know the name of the maker to be a good one and got one to try. It also was in the color they needed.
The new Bandits with the ok hooks are now made in China I am told. I liked the other brand of hooks better. All the fish had to do was look at it and they were hooked.
They Wood Work have a pretty good paint job on them. I wish Wmart cared more colors of them but there is a web site to check out for them. www.leesissonlures.com Plus they are made in the USA

Hey J White, what is your favorite two or three colors of bandits?
J white. I helped a buddy of mine paint some baits one summer. Man they would stand in line to buy his painted baits.
Scale pattern easy. Spray base then use plastic screen wire and spray over that. Now you have scales.
Also it sure helps to have a steady hand when blending in from one color to the next.

I have a regulator from sears that I use with my air brush. Put a low pressure reading guage with it and works great.

I have used it for several years on wood projects with good success. Not very expensive if I remember right. Also might check "Hobby Lobby" as they carry air brushes.
