Thanks to everyone for their replies. I primarily bank fish but have a pretty wide open area. I am not sure on the length but do have a 64 rod that I can use if I need something shorter.

I fish a lot from the bank too. I use a SC Triumph 66LF rod (around $ 100.00) and a Shimano Nexave 1000 reel ($ 50.00) with 6lb. Trilene XL and have been very pleased with it.
