I always launch before it's dark and return back...
I always launch before it's dark and return back slowly to the ramp after dark. Keeping an air horn ready also helps to alert others. A bow search light is necessary in my opinion too.

Been doing that for years. 1 litre bottles stacked in do great and give you some ice cold water to drink on a hot day too. Keeps from having to empty icy/fishy water from a cooler!
