I like the idea of reversing the tube skirt on the jig head. I use all kinds of tubes on beetle spins. Pretty much anything will fit- even worm size...

My brother-in-law came down from N.Y. and we fished Diascund all week.

Fished Diascund last week. Caught a boatload of crappie, 2 bullheads, 3 bowfin, one pickerel ( 21.5 in.),and a turtle on small ruby reds (goldfish). Didn't catch any bass.
