Have you tried using a small spinner like a beetle spin or a roadrunner? We use both types but use a 2 inch Southern Pro curly tail grub on the jighead. Works well for us here in Ky...

It was 75 degrees today around 8 am. Reached 76 when we finally quit. It's hard to beat those southern pro hot grubs. Best curly tail I've ever used for slow trollinmg and casting.
