I never really saw the need to until my lead battery would only last 5-6 hours and would be barely getting by on 11.2-11.3 volts <br />
so I bought an impulse lithium!<br />
and am very satisfied...

Yes, they can mount on the same pole, and you can mount them wherever it suits you best. However You won’t be able to read both at the same time.

From what I’ve read the black box can handle the 20 volts but the head unit can’t. You may want to check with Garmin before you make that connection.

Don’t use a 20volt battery to power your Garmin head, it will burn it up.

Like new unit with the gt52 transducer used very little due to family health issues. This unit is livescope compatible. Up grading to the Garmin 106 for livescope is the reason for selling.
