Technically, it is illegal to fish under or tie off to any bridge in the US, per Homeland Security, but very few enforce it.

Get rid of that limp wrist rod and get a rod with some backbone. When you set the hook with that rod it takes too much time to move the hook. 7' fast action medium light or even medium.

I used the Tru-Turn hooks for many years and changed to the Aberdeen sickle hooks a few years ago. I find I hook more fish in the top of the mouth with the sickle hooks.

FYI..take a rag and some acetone and wipe the finish off the pipe. Lot easier than sanding. You'll feel the surface start to get soft and sticky.

I found using bobbers caused my line to float too...
I found using bobbers caused my line to float too far back because of the added resistance dragging through the water. For a very slow presentation, they should work.
