I don't know about gnats, but the cheap Dollar store imitation Listerene works great on mousquitos. Just spray it around your patios or picnic tables. I guess you could try it in the boat.

I check all packages that the grand kids get at Christmas. A lot of them have items that are tied into the packages with a plastic covered wire. They are better than bread ties and last a long time.
