Casting crankbaits for crappie is a waste of time. The people here in north MS troll them, and have some success. Especially on Enid, where I see it a lot. Trolling gives the best chance for depth...

A Black fly. Or a small spinner with a Black Fly. Anything black. Or flick out the fly line with live bait on it.

If you want to catch a lot of fish, and I mean good fish, don't limit yourself...

Beetle Spins are EXCELLENT for bluegill. I've used them for years. A little Mepps or Rooster Tail is good, too. A tiny Rebel crawfish is great, too. Those, plus a black jig is really all I use...

I never trim the hair on a Slater's jig. # 8 for bluegill in black-black-black is the best choice.

They told me that Enid had a 25 limit this year. Heck, I don't even know what the rules are anymore! :confused:

I had that wrong, then pstone. I thought we had a possession limit of twice the limit per household person. I also heard today that Enid and Grenada don't even have the same limit rules or size...

It's too late for this year, but contact your local representative and mention the reduced limits. I doubt we can jump down for 30 to 10, but we might can hit 20 or 25, and lower it again later. ...

The possession limit is a joke and is the most un-enforceable thing I ever heard of.

I say a limit of 20 per day is fair and reasonable. I'd prefer 15. Ain't gonna happen. Not for a while. ...
