The mono would dig into the braid. I would use cheap mono. You can use higher test line if you want so it doesn't take too much.

I have the same boat. Even have a milk crate similar to yours, although I usually have a small cooler back there instead. Great boat for the money!

I have always thought of spring as crappie time, not anymore. I have caught more in the last 3 months than I have ever caught during the spawn.

Thanks for the info! A lot of the place I fish have a lot of natural structure, cyprus tops and such. I would like to be able to find this structure in the deeper water.
