We were in Green County side of Oconee and didn't even get a bite..Idk what's up with these crappie..Some say they catch a few slabs under the Sugar Creek bridge at night..Will try that next time.

This posting is a little late, but I thought I would give a summery report on the fishing on Lake Oconee.
We went on the night of the 28th. Put in at Sugar Creek and went to an area where the fish...

Oconee is full of bait stealers, but we caught a few nice catfish too. Going back Sunday early and this time we are making sure to get bait! Wouldn't think of hanging it up til fall. To many good...

Okay, like I said, we had a late start because everyone was out of minnows around here. Put in at around 6:30am. It didn't really get hot until around 11:30am.
The catfish were hitting our minnows...

To answer my own question..Yep, you can catch crappie in 100+ degree heat. LOL

Hey thanks for your input guys. Looks like we won't be leaving as early as planned because all the nearby bait shops are out of minnows.

It got up to 105f yesterday and suppose to get up to 108f today.
We're going fishing very early on Oconee Sunday morning.
I was just wondering. Is it too hot for Crappie Fishing?

It has been years since I fished Clark Hill,[Strom Thurman] but years ago some nice Crappie came out of that lake. I have much more time to fish now as I'm retired. Just now getting back into fishing...
