I went with the echo 200..didn't cost much more than the 100..if I remember right I paid $125 for the 200 at Target online..
it works..now if my catching skills were better I'd be eating more...

the garmin doesn't have a gps its just a sonar..and its black and white..not color. but it cheaper with a large screen and good resolution.

I just got, a couple of weeks back, a Garmin Echo 200 from target online for $130..you might consider it..its less than half the 570.

well I spent the day helping a friend install a new front door...its in and looks good.
i could have spent the day installing my new fish finder..its 2wks old and not yet...

nope..I just a garmin echo 200...I need to mount on my kayak..
I hope to fish all winter...just need to find time..

for the most part the waters don't freeze around here..its not too hard to stay...

I just need something to keep it floating..otherwise it water proof and even works under water..
i general I just like to leave it in the truck..safe and dry..

at higher level of current more care is needed to...

sorry but I disagree on the dead battery cannot be determined from a short..
the current draw to charge a dead battery changes over time..a short doesn't..its all about the fuses and wire...

try using Firefox or Chrome..

the problem with IE is related to how it caches the pages..meaning there is not fix..the browser is broke....
