I totally agree. I bought a ULTREX this year. I don't regret it one bit. It is hands down the best thing I have ever bought for my boat.

Sounds like dirty low speed jets (gummed up by old fuel). Back pressure caused by having the exhaust in the water requires a richer mixture. May need a carb rebuild.
