I think it will be hard to fit the plate, my gunwale is just a hair over 3 inches wide, then it has a 3 inch drop to the recessed deck. I'm either going to have to try and mount a gator style mount...

I think I've come to terms with having to cut the rail, but my issue now is how to mount the trolling motor base which such a small gunwale before the recessed deck.
