I used one several years ago with Denatured Alcohol. It worked just fine, only mine would let the alcohol evaporate out between uses. Now I use a propane torch mainly, sometimes the alcohol lamp....

To keep the eyes clean I normally hold the jig heads with the forceps covering the eye when dipping into powder paint. The slabs don't seem to mind that look at all so neither do I.

It's good in murky water and in clear with cloud cover.

Looks good! It reminds me a little of my Mardi Gras pattern.

In the past few years, I saw a chenille jig that had a solid black chenille top and solid chartreuse bottom. I thought I had saved instructions for tying it, but I can't locate it so I must not have....

I have never found that circle hooks work all that well with either bass or crappie, when used on a drop shot rig.

Circle hooks don't work if you try to set the hook as with other types of hooks....

If you use a circle hook or octopus hook, the fish sets the hook for you. You just reel them in when you feel the weight on your line.
