you can even get nice batteries from ebay, I run a 12v 10 amp + a small 4.5v 4amp because with my FF i get a better signal this way. A nice SLA(sealed battery) is good.. a car battery would be too...

Midway marina (now lake effects) sells them both shad and herring. You are better off netting them tho because its quite esxpensive..when you can get them for free.
