I pretty much use them year round. I use the smallest spoon for the depth of water. let it go all the way to the bottom, then reel up a crank or two, snap up 3-4 ft and let settle back down....

I like using spoons in brush jigging them...
I like using spoons in brush jigging them verticaly. size depends on the depth of water. usually a 1/4 ounce for 25 foot and under. if it is windy and the boat is blowing around you will lose a few....
