I think you can not fish from Strickland boat ramp to the RR bridge. I do not think IDNR can close a water way. You can still travel through these areas just not fish this area.

Try THe pond behind the coles county airport not to many crappie but many small bass. Tie on a buzz bait or popper and have some top water fun! Also some blue gill and sun fish.
