I have seen it that way too but on this motor the board mounts inside the existing right side cover.

I believe that Mr. Crappie line tends to be a little larger diameter than other lines.....4 lb. is probably equal to others in 6 lb. I can't be sure though.......but I do prefer Stren Gold in 6 lb....
