I haven't heard of any. Is there a WV Crappie Club?

I've pretty much switched back to chasing walleye.

I heard about it yesterday on wvsportsman.net. That's terrible.

I've never even heard of it, but let me know how you do.

Went to South Millcreek Lake yesterday, and caught about 6 or so with only two keepers. Caught about ten jumbo sunfish.

Well I worked this weekend, but had a couple hours Sunday to fish. Caught a dozen or so, and here's a pic of the mess I kept.

Anyone having any luck here? I used to go down there once every spring, but haven't been there in 10 years. Just wondering if the crappie fishing is still good?

As is WV. Before they sold it in WV when I was in Morgantown we'd go over the border to get it. In fact I believe I'll have a cold lager with the fried crappie we're having for dinner.

Caught my personal best today. It was 15.5". It was released back into the water right after the pic was taken. It was outside my range of eating size.

P.S. Caught about a dozen crappie, and one perch today.

They were only a few feet deep, but the place I was fishing is 12' max with an average of 6 or 7 foot.

Just a small green twister tail and a lead head.

Caught between 30 and 40 crappie today. All of them were keepers, but two that were 7". I'm calling anything over 9" a keeper BTW. The smallest of the ones I kept was 9.5".

On my way home from work I went by my family's place, and it was still pretty muddy.

Hey how's it going. My brother is a state trooper in Martinsburg, and I'm a little over an hour away from Winchester.

Well I caught my limit in walleye Thursday evening. I believe the water is going to be too high and muddy for crappie fishing here this weekend.

I rode out to our dam and it's not ready yet. Dorcas is a small unincorporated community not far from Petersburg.

The one my family owns? It's in Lahmansville. Or are you talking about where I was making my sad attempt at ice fishing. That was a dam out near Dorcas.
