This was in NC, but I just caught these last weekend under my light. It wasnt hot and heavy like April / May will be, but it was steady. Water temp was upper 40s/low 50s over 25 ft of water.

You'll be fine. We take our 14' out all the time and have no issues. Its the middle of the summer when the water is warm when you need to worry about it.

Just watch out on where you launch and fish. NC and SC do not have reciprocal license agreements in place. Ive caught a few lately over brush in 20', but they should be moving up anytime soon.
