I used some toilet bowl cleaner diluted with water. Took it right off. Worked great on the white film on the motor too.

It didn't sink! The fish weren't cooperating thou. Only a mess of shorts and a couple nice ones.

St Croix for the fact they are made in the USA, except for the latest / cheapest models. They are made in Mexico because of the cost of production. They developed that line to compete with the rods...
