I use K9 and Sea knight nano braid on all of my Crappie rods. Yellow braid and a 4# leader, have never had a problem with braid you have to get use to using it. Only use 6# braid.

I pour my own and use wide gap pan fish jig hooks. They stick really well and the eye locks onto the upper lip and can be a bugger to get out. Very seldom will they come of unless it's a bad hook set.

I have red deck lights , doesn't hurt your night vision and never had a problem with bugs. I have used blue led lights for illuminating the bank when fishing shallow . fish don't seem to mine.
