I would guess with the rocks on the twin bridges or along the dam. They heat up in the sun and warm the water right? I've seen nice stringers come up from there this time of year. Also the shore by...

I've only caught catfish this time of year on accident. What method were you using? Which creek channel? I've seen some big blues caught right after a rain in the twin bridges channel. I've always...

I can't believe how low the water is at T-bird. Are there any good spots for the spawn left? All the shallow timber I usually target is on shore!

Anyone kayak? Looking for waters closer to OKC
Know any good streams or little rivers closer to OKC than the Illinois? I floated 47 miles on the Cimmaron and didn't catch one fish. Saw dozens of gar (and many capsized boats in trees) though.

Thanks guys. I feel really lucky. Even though I was into the school of fish all day, it was my first serious crappie outing. Would this be the equivalent of a 10lb bass? I posted it in the big fish...

Sticky: 16 inch crappie
Caught this Sept 12th, overcast day. Didn't get a weight, but it was just over 16 inches. The plastic spoon in the picture is exactly 6 inches.

16 inch crappie!
Caught this beauty yesterday with a minnow. Biggest crappie I've ever seen in person. It was overcast almost all day, so I was fishing all day. First time I've ever marked and parked over a school of...

What do you do when the lake starts turning over?
Not fish for a few weeks? Or does it make a difference? I've yet to try fall fishing because I hate the cold. T-bird must be turning over right about night, Norman water taste HORRIBLE lately.

Standing timber locations at lake Murray
I'm going to go fish Murray for the first time this week. I have no idea where to start, but I would lake to fish standing timber, specifically timber fairly close to campgrounds. Murray is such a...

"Lake" Dahlgren - Lexington Wildlife Reserve
I don't know how many people know about this lake so I'll spread the word. Its about 20 miles southeast of Norman in Lexington. Its more like a large pond than a lake. I've caught some crappie there...

I would say go to the "clearest" water you can find. That would be on the east part of T-bird right? That water is so dingy that I don't know how far the light will penetrate.

Crappie taste from lake to lake
Do you guys notice a change in taste from lake to lake? For example, I imagine a T-bird crappie would taste different than a Broken Bow crappie.

Well I'm new to the board, but I would bet part of the reason is the crappie fishing isn't as good as last summer. That's what I gather from people I've talked to anyway.

Tenkiller is an awesome lake. I've only fished around Cookson. Lots of shad schooling in the coves, real easy to spot and catch with a cast net. I fish it mainly for bass but I did catch some crappie...

Thanks, I've been looking for topo maps online for months without much luck. I live right by T-bird, so that really helps. Have any maps of konawa, arbuckles, or other close lakes? Thanks
