I fish mostly across lake from state park toward Smith Fork . Look for brush tops 18-20 fow. Bite is really slow. Best on shiners which are hard to keep alive right now.

295795 Caught these Saturday at Caney in 18' fow fishing 16' deep on shiners. There was very little signs of eggs in them. A couple was almost 2#. Let some smaller ones go. Tried shallow with no luck.

I fished Caney Thursday-Sunday and only caught 8 good crappie mostly shallow.

I fished Caney yesterday afternoon. I'm finding them at 30ft right now. Kept 10 decent ones. Fishing about middle of lake. Can release small ones ok at that depth without airsack popping.

Winter is usually pretty good. Depending on temp they may be 30' deep.

I do fish jigs some but favor the shiners. Catch some casting and counting jigs down to 10-12ft. Out from Smith Fork across from state park lot of tops and what they call the jungle lot of tops.
