When we wade, we look for grass,birds, and bait. If there is one close enough we wade next to oyster beds and generally you can usually hook up with big reds, speks and snook.

scrape the barncles off the piling, to chum them in, and try and get a muscle or barnacle or shrimp for bait.. I catch them on shrimp and jig when we shoot docks for reds.

Take a 1 oz weight abouve a swivel and with 20 lb fluoro carbon leader throw on a 2 inch spoon. silver usually works best. you can cast it or troll it.

I wouldnt use a .243 for big deer, but it will work fine for regular ones.
A .270 is a little more gun, but thats if you havent bought it yet.

Went to Smyrna Bait & tackle, he said he caught some hybrids on some live shad. He said they were about 8 feet down, from what he showed me they were decent sized.

Palomar knot two jigs about 18 inches apart then an swivel top weight below them about 12 inches, this works good for me just make sure the hook points are up, not down.
