You have to keep in mind that all the Humminbird DI units have 2D sonar and DI. The 2D sonar will be a plus if you want to drop shot.

One other thing to try is change your Beam Select under the Sonar tab to 200/83khz. This will give you a wider cone angle for the fish to travel through to get your arches.

On the 898 the only place you can have the readouts is on the left hand side of the display. Only the 1100 series and the 700 series has the readouts on the bottom of the display.
