your going to get line twist no matter what but you can ease some it by reeling on some line and walking the line back off then with little tention on the line reel it back up.

can't tell you about those lakes but lanier, with all the rain we've had lately, is suprisingly clear to a tea color in some spots. ealier this year when it rained, it would stain up but not lately....

dido on that. larger spools will have less line drag. make sure your spool if full though or the larger spool won't help much.

If you fish a lot of places that you may hit something, I would keep it. If your worried more about someone stealing it then I would check your homeowners policy it may be covered under that.
