Heat evaporation and heavy use will pull it down plus staying on charge constantly. Just a reminder to be prepared. Use distilled water or add some acid if you need it! My batteries are going on 5 years, so I watch them more lately than when newer.

Thanks for the heads up Dawg. I checked mine when I finished fishing before summer (early June). Wont hurt to check 'em again though. While youre at it better go ahead and check/change dope in lower unit in case you got a seal leaking. Winter will be here before you know it.

I just had to replace a 11 month old battery because the water got down to plates, i filled it back up but it was too late!
