Thanks to everybody for the nice comments,I tend to believe 25 is alot of fish for one person but with that being said we havent seen any decrease in production over the years but that could be attributed to several things,we havent had a hard winter in along time,no more gill nets etc. The main problem we face is loss of habitat,if we lose the interior marshes it wont matter how many you can keep because you wont catch any.I have a sort of self imposed minimum if I think a fish has to be measured it automatically goes free, fish anywhere from 4lbs to 7lbs get a picture and released until I catch one over 7lbs then she,s going on the wall. Thanks again ,Brian

Its the same for Black Drum. Our specks have a 12" minimum and you caint have more than two exceeding 25 inches total length
[I]25" slot on trout in Louisiana?[I]

When did that happen? Not that I catch a lot of 25" specks but that's a new one on me.

That is a nice box of Yellow-Mouth Trout come out of the Lake yes indeed.
    Nice job.

I believe that maximum size restriction applies only to parts of Cameron Parish. It's intended to protect the numbers of big fish in Calcasieu Lake.

    Default Limits in Louisiana

Back when I first started fishing for Speckled-Trout and Redfish in LA there was NO-LIMIT for size or otherwise. Fishing trips were gauged on how many boxes of fish you caught. I'm not waxing nostalgic on the "good ole days" I'm just putting a little historical perspective on it. My wife tells me that I'm only as old as I feel but I'm sure that only goes so far. I feel like 25 trout and 5 reds and 5 black drum with some flounder thrown in, maybe add a croaker or 2 is a nice take home. I only get down to the marsh a few times a year and appreciate being able to bring home some fish. I fish out of Delacroix Island and Hopedale south to American Bay. Plenty of fish down there yet. But I've yet to catch a slew of those 25" yellow-mouths. Put me on 'em!

I fished Delacroix Island last year with Capt. Jack Payne and had a super trip though we were mostly fishing for redfish.

Well if you'd been there right after Thanksgiving and looked around you might have seen me standing out on the marsh looking all bowed-up and proud.

    'Fraid so, Scoop.
So do the "flushes" from virtually all of the shrimp trawlers, oyster fishermen, crabbers, and rec fishermen - if the need arises. But, you gotta go when you gotta go.
On a more positive note, in areas with good water transfer, the accumulation of fecal coliforms is not bad and at times is hardly detectable.
So don't sweat eating the fish - especially the smaller ones. Just watch where your oysters come from!
And try to take care of "business" before you leave the dock! :D
