    Default Venice offshore 2-19-11

Made a trip with capt. Josh Howard with deep south charters. After a hairy ride out in thick fog in the mighty mississippi we finally got to the gulf. Fished for big tuna around the lump area with not much luck. Alot of bonita and kings. Decided to hit a rig for some amberjack, caught our limit real quick. Man those things can put up a hell of a fight. After taking a beer break we ran another 40 miles to a floater. Trolled for wahoo with no luck, what happen next was the highlight of the trip. 30-60 pound yellowfin started jumping out the water on flying fish. Capt Josh told us to throw the topwater poppers and it was game on! It was amazing catching tuna on topwater. We also caught some on freelined cut bait. It was a trip to remember for sure. If anyone want to fish out of venice look up deep south charters.

    +1...Nice catch!!!!!
Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish....hmmm...and live on a teacher's wages? Just give the guy the flippin' fish already..
