2015 Ice Fishing Report

Been trying a number of ice fishing locations and all we are doing is eliminating where the fish are not.
Waited for the fishing club ice reports on Winnebago before heading out to give the perch a try, but after 5 moves we didn't see or catch anything from Paynes Point to Garlic Island. Gave Butte De Morts a couple of tries but dirty water pushed out the pan fish and some northerns moved in one day. We set up for them a couple days later and didn't get a bite. We gave the whitefish a try up off of Sand Bay. ATV travel only as the ice is shoved and jagged all the way out. There was a ATV trail to get out but had to add 2 miles to the trip. Andy connected with 8 and we got 1. Talked with a couple of others around us and very hit and miss, if you get out of bed that morning just right you can limit out and the guy fishing 2 feet away from you doesn't get a bite. Getting the shack out on Bago this week to chace perch and get ready for the sturgeon spearing season. Dalton has been on the crappies and a few northers on a secret lake and placed a couple of fish in some of the ice tournaments. Alot of fun on the ice to go, with the High School State Championship Ice Tournament and Battle on Bago to come. Thinking big lake action for this summer, the last winter that we had poor ice action we had a record catch of salmon in summer.
